Nether Alderley Parish Council bade ‘farewell’ to two long- standing Councillors at its meeting on 20th April.

Sandra Reynolds and Alan Clarke have both served on the Parish Council for over 12 years and have seen very many and varied local matters brought before the Parish Council during that time.

Both have been very active in their support and care for the local area, through their roles as Councillors.

They have both Chaired the Parish Council – Alan for the last 3 years. Sandra has been a committed member for many years, and past Chair, of the Parish Hall Joint Management Committee (responsible for the day to day running of the Parish Hall) and Alan chaired the Burial Board (responsible for running the Burial Ground) prior to his Chairmanship of the Council.

Both Councillors have given many hours to addressing and finding ways forward with local issues, including some major changes within the Parish, notably the building of the Bypass and more recently significant change at Alderley Park.

Although major matters have been dealt with, much of the Councillors’ time has been involved with ongoing Parish Council responsibilities – local planning development, consultations, highways and pavements, running the Burial Ground and Parish Hall, representing the Parish in many different situations and identifying and responding to a wide variety of local matters and problems as they arise.

Alan and Sandra officially step down from their roles 4 days after the election on 7th May.

The rest of the Parish Council is very grateful for all their work and wishes them well.
