Fake Banking App Scam Alert

We are urging anyone who have accounts on line or are considering buying or selling goods on line to be extra vigilant about a scam involving a fake bank account transfer app. The App creates an image which shows the transfer has been made. In recent weeks offenders have been targeting vulnerable individuals including the elderly.
They may also offer to get your money back claiming that you have lost money through a purchase and ask you to check your bank app. Once this is opened they will then ask you to down load this app to get your money back and transfer money out of your bank
Sellers using sites such as Facebook Marketplace, eBay and have reported incidents of fraudsters using a fake bank app to also pay for goods they agreed to purchase.
The software is accessible via a number of apps which are publicly available.
