An uplifting and special annual Civic Service in July was attended by two Nether Alderley Parish Councillors at Alderley Edge Methodist Church, as part of their 150th anniversary celebrations. The Reverent Ben Clowes who lead the service assisted by Rev. Jane Parry, was to leave at the end of the month after ten years and his commitment, warmth and exuberance will be much missed.

The service was a celebration of the local vibrant community in Alderley Edge and included singing from Alderley Edge Community Choir and Alderley Edge Parish Council and St Pius’s Church represented with readings and prayers.
As an original gesture Reverent Clowes enthused over his liking for Costa Coffee in the village and all the congregation received a coffee bean to take away as a reminder to be positive and proactive whenever possible in the local community. A novel idea which everyone liked!
