Burglaries Continue

With the winter months always comes an increase in burglaries and car thefts, which is why it is so important to follow some simple tips to help prevent you becoming a victim:

* Lock your windows/doors, we attend scenes far too often where no force was required to gain entry as they have entered through an open window

* Motion activated or timer lights, you only need to be a difficult target to put of thieves

* If you are going out for the night (unlikely with Covid) draw you curtains and leave a light on.

* If you are going away for a long period, buy some timers for lamps and keep your curtains drawn, anyone watching your house will see the lights turn on in the evening and off again for ‘bedtime’

* Keep tools locked away so they can’t gain access to your house using them

* Do not put bins somewhere where they can be used as a step into a window or over a fence

Thank you for reading and please share this advice with vulnerable neighbours who may not have access to this service,
